There are three Divisions in DanceSport.
- Recreational (beginner dancer with no costume just street wear and restricted syllabus) This Division has 3 levels, Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced
- Amateur (competitor dancer) This Division is graded into C Grade (entry level into full costume & syllabus), B Grade (1 step higher), A Grade (higher again, highest Grade)
- Professional (teacher, adjudicator who can also compete)
In any of these divisions it is important to get the very best possible start to your competitive dancing career. The right coaches and studio environment is vital to your success and this is why Dancesport Australia have put together a comprehensive accrediatation system to ensure that all DSA accredited coaches have the tools and knowledge to provide their competitors with the very best possible care and leadership.
To the left is a list of DanceSport registered teaching facilities, we recommend contacting the teaching facility studio closest to your location but be sure to enquire about your coaches accreditation in the relevant dance styles. Whenever possible it is a great idea to launch your career at one studio before branching off to different studios for each style.
